. . .This girl. So, whatever I'm doing is beginning to work. I think it's the kettlebell. That shit is for real. Also, I'm still running. And by running, I mean, I go for a walk and run a little during it. I'm not training for a race, so fuck the long distance shit for now.
Just a little over 3 weeks left until Chicago. I can do this? Can I? Yes. It is known.
If you hate exercising and eating healthy but know you need to, commiserate with me! We can bitch about it together.

New goal, starting. . .yesterday?
So I'm going out of town next month and have now decided it's crisis time for weight loss. Need to lose 10 lbs before the trip. Why, you ask? Because I've been steadily gaining all semester. Apparently training for the mud run (done, check, complete!) does not yield weight loss. GFIA. (godfuckitall for those of you keeping up). So. Kettlebell. Sensible eating. Running. These are the things I plan to do to lose some fucking weight. Fuck my 30s so far! Metabolism is so not cooperating with anything I've tried.
Granted, I have not tried anything for more than a month or so, but still. This is go time.

Because I really need to post more...
Mud run is scheduled for June 1. No backing out! I have finally progressed past week 5 in couch to 5k and I did 2 8-minute runs today. Yay me! I am doing well with running lately, and have been walking some at lunch as well. All I need to do is add in some weight training 2-3 times a week and I'm set. Still not losing any weight, but whatever. Fuck weight loss. Ima stop worrying about that.

Doing better.
Okay, after that bitchfest I started doing better. Today, for example, I had lunch and wanted a piece if delicious cake I had made afterword. But I wasn't hungry still, so I decided to go for a run, and if I was still craving cake at that point, I would have it. I wasn't! So that was good.
I may still have a piece after dinner, but I will only if I am still hungry and if that is what I'm craving. Small victories.

Doing a mud run when I am sidelined by a little rain?
Okay, today was not a "little" rain. And it's winter still, technically, and cold. So a mud run in June sounds delightful. But training is hard when I really only have 4 days a week to work out. If I miss one, fine. If I miss 2; then I'm going an entire week between runs, and that is not good. I hesitate to progress to weeks 4 and 5 when my runs aren't as frequent as they should be. I did decide to move to week 4, but I am going to stay here until the weather starts getting better. I have nowhere to go to run indoors; not that I'd want to, but it would help keep me from making excuses for not running when I could otherwise be.
Next rant: Fuck food. Fuck it so much.
I am trying, trying, trying to stick to this "thin mentality" thing where you eat what you are craving when you're hungry, and stop eating when you are no longer hungry. Sounds simple, except for when you grew up in a family that doesn't let a little thing like "not being hungry" keep us from eating. So cleaning my plate was always a big deal. Makes it hard to change. I am trying, and getting better, but today I had a massive slip-up and feel fucking terrible. Physically. Like, my stomach is going to explode. What the hell is wrong with me? I was full before I had even finished half of my meal. Did I stop and think how nice it would be to save the rest of that samich for later? Hell no! Tomorrow is a new day, and there's always wine for dinner.
Anyways, I hope there were enough f-bombs for +Edward Maglott and I hope +Katy Vance has some inspiring words for me. Because I have no other readers ;)

Harry potter keeps me going
I just re-read my post from the beginning of the year, and I think I have done well so far. I have Harry potter on the iPod, and that motivates me to run even when it is 20 degrees out. Still not running in the rain, but I see nothing wrong with that.
Now I have awesome new hair, a new pot to cook in, and a fat hound dog that really needs walking! She's always been fat and needed walks, but she's getting fatter and now it's more serious. So, yay, resolutions! I am still trying!

New beginnings
So I am taking all of the weight management shit I've been looking at over break and plan to start tomorrow. I have a billy blanks DVD, p90x workouts, and audiobooks on the iPod. No excuses for not working out!
Food is always going to be my issue. I am working on not "stuffing" myself and only eating until I am comfortably full. Unfortunately I have genetics working against me on my dad's side. I am working on it though. Next, I plan to cook more, not eat out during the week, and have smaller dinners. I get home from work at 930 pm, and I try to go to bed by 11, so I don't need a heavy meal. I think this will be helpful for me. Yay New Years resolutions!
